Architecton
Synopsis
Architecton is an extraordinary journey through the matter that shapes our living environment: concrete, and its ancestor, stone. Victor Kossakovsky asks a fundamental question: how do we inhabit the world of tomorrow? Because there is more to architecture than designing buildings. It is the art of space that traces the shape of our actions, our politics, our very being. A documentary about the pursuit of a sustainable architecture and a new understanding of beauty. A film that unravels like an enigma, revealing its secrets – or at least the questions that haunt it – only at the finish, leaving plenty of time for the viewers to marvel at the spectacular movements of rocks and minerals, and to observe the splendor, as well as the desolation, of human constructions.
