Femme
Synopsis
By night, Jules transforms herself into a drag queen and sets London’s stages alight. One night, a group of homophobic thugs attack him after a show. Jules went into hiding and didn’t dare leave his house until three months later. While in a gay sauna, he stumbles across Preston, the leader of his attackers, whose friends are unaware of his homosexuality. But Preston does not recognise his victim. Driven by a desire for revenge, Jules begins an affair with his tormentor…
With their precise eye and sharp direction, directors Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping weave a remarkable thriller where physical performance and psychological subtlety meet in an anti-homophobia plea.
