Girls’ Stories (Dziewczynskie historie)
Synopsis
Eleven-year-old Jagoda and thirteen-year-old Zuzia are best friends on the threshold of becoming teenagers. With their charismatic and playful personalities, there is never a dull moment. Through conversations about zits, boys, periods, bras, TikTok, and women’s rights—as well as plenty of ice cream runs, sleepovers, and impromptu dance routines—the two girls navigate the ups and downs of preteen life in Poland.
This charming debut from director Aga Borzym is a joyful glimpse into girlhood that brims with energy and preteen wisdom. “Love is cool until you date somebody,” Jagoda memorably explains at one point. An authentic and hilarious take on the coming-of-age genre.
