Six protagonists and six young filmmakers—most of them still students—were selected and paired based on their shared desire to tell stories.

HOMETOWNS is a documentary series portraying six young people through the eyes of six young filmmakers, navigating the world and searching for their own paths. It explores their dreams and hopes after being forced to leave their homes.

His focus lies on narrative films and music videos. He started working on film-sets in high school and also directing first funded short films (The Song of the Shells, Feierblumm Produtions). His student films Dream Dancer (2019) and Two Figures at a River (2020), which he created during his studies at the Sarajevo Film Academy were both selected at the Sarajevo Film Festival. He since directed multiple short films (One Day Longer / Greece / 2020, Defining Leift / Lux. / 2020) and directed numerous music videos for Luxembourgish singers/bands (LeVibe / 2020 – 2021, Hannah Ida / 2019, Lara Grogan / 2022). The first season of his anthology series The Inside of the Outsider is currently being released. A second season is already scheduled for production in February 2023.

After studying political science, she continued her studies at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In her work, she engages with political themes and experiments with forms of repetition and temporality.

Catherine Dauphin is a writer, director, and actress from Luxembourg. Her work focuses on fiction films and documentaries, especially female and queer stories, as well as multicultural narratives.

She started working in the camera department in documentaries and commercials, before directing some of her own short films (The Art of Picture Taking, 2013, Anniversary, 2017, Coffee and Water, 2021) and documentaries (Three Borders, 2019). She wrote, directed and acted in the miniseries What We Talk About When We Talk About Sex (2020), set in Luxembourg, and is currently writing her first feature film.

Born in 1989, Kim El Ouardi is originally from Luxembourg and Morocco. He studied motion graphics in Berlin, then worked as a cameraman in documentary, cine-dance and experimental cinema. Through a wide variety of projects, he has deepened his knowledge of audiovisual production: from pre-production to finishing, including shooting, lighting, VFX and color grading. He draws his inspiration from distant travels, but also from observing his surroundings and everyday life

Sirvan MAROGY

Sirvan Marogy is a multilingual filmmaker fluent in French, German, English, and Luxembourgish, with over a decade of experience as a director, screenwriter, and editor based in Luxembourg. He co-wrote the feature film SAWAH with Dennis Foon and Adolf el Assal, which premiered theatrically in 2019 and was streamed on Netflix in 2020. In 2015, Sirvan served as a jury member at the Venice Film Festival in the “Giornate degli Autori” category. Born in Iraq, he and his family sought refuge in Luxembourg in 1997. His passion for cinema was ignited as a child in a refugee camp, where a television in his family’s tent became a source of fascination. This formative experience profoundly shaped his storytelling. Over the years, Sirvan has directed, filmed, and edited a wide variety of projects, including short films, corporate videos, music videos, TV shows, and youth initiatives.

Lara Mack studied „Time Based Media“ at the university of applied science in Mainz. After completion of her studies in 2017, she worked as a freelance Director and Production Assistant before coming to AMOUR FOU Luxembourg in 2019 as assistant to the line producer and Coordinator for Production and Postproduction. She worked on Films such as YALDA (by Massoud Bakhshi), RED FIELDS (by Keren Yedaya). HINTERLAND (by Stefan Ruzowitzky), UNE HISTOIRE PROVISOIRE (by Romed Wyder), HIMBEEREN MIT SENF (by Ruth Olshan), DIE MUCKLAS (von Ali Ahadi Samadi), and DER PASSFÄLSCHER (von Maggie Peren), LE QUATRIEME MUR (by David Oelhoffen) und INGEBORG BACHMANN (by Margarethe von Trotta).
Since 2022 she is working as Line Producer for AMOUR FOU Luxembourg.
