Biografie

Natasha Craveiro is a Cape Verdean sociologist, producer and director, member of the Cape Verdean National Cinema Nucleus, NuNaC.

In January 2017 she co-founded producing company Korikaxoru Films, since when she produced and wrote the short documentary “Dona Mónica” directed by Carlos Yuri Ceuninck, produced the feature film documentaries “The Master’s Plan” and “OMI NOBU” also directed by Carlos Yuri Ceuninck.

Provided local production services for very well known directors such as Abderrahmane Sissako and Pawel Pawlikovski.

In addition to producing, Natasha also writes and directs. In 2022 she released her first short documentary “Mama”, which was selected for the Mostra Online de Cinema Internacional de Sao Paulo, Brazil, 2022, for the Mostra Dia da Africa no Cinema by Fundação Cultural de Palmas, Tocantins, Brazil, 2023, for CENA, Mostra de Cinema Africano realizado por mulhers, Cape Verde, 2023, and for the Festival Europeu de Cinema by European Union in Cape Verde, 2023.

Wrote and directed Pirinha, a docfic that will premier in March 2024. The project Pirinha was selected for Writing Lab at KoodougouDoc 2021, got the Development Fund from DocA 2023 and the production support from the General Direction of Arts of Cape Verde.

In 2022 she was one of the curators of the Brazilian Festival Adélia Sampaio and 2023 worked with the Festival Cinemas D’Afrique Lausanne for the Cape Verde Focus in that same festival.

In 2023 was selected to the program Deental@Cannes held during the Cannes Festival and to make part of the African Delegation in IDFA 2023.
