THE JURIES
Two years after Asghar Farhadi, the Festival welcomes the return of an Iranian jury president, this time one of the strongest contenders for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film. Regular festivalgoers will remember that Mohammad Rasoulof was honoured at the Festival’s closing in 2021 (Manuscripts Don’t Burn). He is currently in the spotlight with The Seed of the Sacred Fig and will preside over one of the most prestigious juries to date.

DOCUMENTARY JURY
As per tradition, the Documentary Jury consists of representatives from film festivals. Two of them, specialists in short films, will extend their stay until our traditional Monday showcase. They will award the DOCUMENTARY PRIZE by BGL BNP PARIBAS, worth €5,000.

FIPRESCI JURY
Founded in Brussels in 1925, FIPRESCI (The International Federation of Film Critics) currently includes over 300 international film journalists and critics. In addition to its annual Grand Prix, the Federation is present at a selection of prestigious festivals. Chosen by the Federation, the Luxembourg City Film Festival will once again welcome journalists tasked with covering the event and awarding the FIPRESCI International Critics’ Prize. A member of the Luxembourg Association of Film Press (ALPC) will also participate in this award. The following journalists will be present in Luxembourg:

- Sonya Aleksandrova, Journalist (IT), Култура (monthly magazine + online), ЯНУАРИ/2025 (online).

2030 AWARD JURY by Luxembourg Aid & Development (worth €7,500) :
Awarded by the Luxembourg Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, the 2030 Award will be given to a film chosen from a cross-section of works addressing development issues or directed by a filmmaker connected to Luxembourg’s cooperation partner countries.

IMMERSIVE PAVILION JURY
The three members of this jury will award the prize for Best Immersive Experience at the Immersive Pavilion 2025.
