After paying tribute in previous editions to Ray Liotta, Terry Gilliam, William Friedkin, Mike Leigh, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Asghar Farhadi and soon to the Chinese director Wang Bing (at our opening ceremony), the Luxembourg City Film Festival is now welcoming Viggo Mortensen.
Danish-American actor, screenwriter, director and composer, Viggo Mortensen has earned acclaim for his work in a wide range of films, including Thirteen Lives, Crimes of the Future, Green Book, Captain Fantastic, The Road, Eastern Promises and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also made his directorial debut with Falling, which he wrote and produced. He also produced Lisandro Alonso’s Jauja, David Oelhoffen’s Loin des hommes, Ana Piterbarg’s Todos tenemos un plan and Henry Mortensen’s Ugly Pop.
On Saturday, March 9th, the Festival will be honouring Viggo Mortensen with a tribute film. Our guest will then receive a trophy. He will also be presenting his latest film, THE DEAD DON’T HURT, alongside lead actress Vicky Krieps. Distributed by Imagine Film Distribution, the film will be released in Belgium and Luxembourg on 1st of May 2024.
