A new member of the International Jury is joining us for the 14th edition. Argentine director and screenwriter Damián Szifron will complete our International Jury alongside Jury President Ira Sachs, Marianne Slot, Sebastian Koch, Arnaud Valois and Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps.
In 2014, he wrote and directed Wild Tales, which premiered and competed in the Official Selection at Cannes and was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Film category. It finally won the BAFTA for Best Foreign Film in a Non-English Language and over 40 international awards at festivals such as Sundance and San Sebastian.
His series ‘The Pretenders’ (2002) is still the most successful TV series in Argentina. Prior to this critical and public acclaim, he directed two other feature films, EL FONDO DEL MAR (The Bottom of the Sea, 2003) and TIEMPO DE VALIENTES (On Probation, 2005).
His latest film, Misanthrope, released in 2023, is a thriller starring Shailene Woodley.
