Masterclass : Gaspar Noé
About
Born in Argentina but raised in Paris, Gaspar Noé has carved out a singular reputation in the world of filmmaking. First reaching critical acclaim in the early 90s with the Critics' Week Prize and the Mention
of the Youth Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his medium-length film Carne, he returned in 1998 with I STAND ALONE, a feature debut that asserted a tendency towards irreverence that was later to be found in IRREVERSIBLE (2002), ENTER THE VOID (2009) and LOVE (2015, shot in 3D). His work is as divisive as it is exciting, with CLIMAX (2018) and VORTEX (2021) cementing the reputation of a director we are proud to welcome to a MASTERCLASS on Saturday 9 March at 2pm at the Cinémathèque (led by Philippe Rouyer) and a complete retrospective of his feature films.
