Masterclass : Tim Roth
About
British actor, director, screenwriter, and producer Tim Roth is one of those faces you never forget. An icon equally at home in Marvel films, Tarantino’s universe, and auteur cinema, his peers consider him one of the prodigies of his generation. Brace yourselves—this is an event not to be missed.
The masterclass of a star who has made himself indispensable across all genres will undoubtedly make a lasting impression on the history of the LuxFilmFest. With a remarkable acting range, Roth has managed to leave his mark in collaborations with Quentin Tarantino (Reservoir Dogs, 1992; Pulp Fiction, 1994…) as well as in various major blockbusters (Planet of the Apes, 2001; Funny Games U.S., 2007…). He first appeared as a hitman in Stephen Fears’ The Hit (1984), then portrayed Van Gogh in Robert Altman’s Vincent & Theo (1990), and has worked with Coppola, Haneke, and many more.
Alongside the tribute, Masterclass, and retrospective we are hosting in collaboration with the Cinémathèque—including his work as a director (The War Zone, 1999)—Tim Roth will also attend the premiere of Poison, the first feature film by Luxembourgish director Désirée Nosbusch, in which he plays one of the two lead roles.
MASTERCLASS, on Tuesday 12 March at 16:00 at Cinémathèque de Luxembourg (moderated by Caroline Vié) and a retrospective of several feature films.
