Synopsis

The new gem from the King of hand-drawn Indie Animation, Bill Plympton.

In the 1940s, a mythical cowboy appears in Sourdough Creek, a corrupt logging town few miles north of nowhere. With only his guitar and Hellbug, a giant fearsome super-insect he battles the evil mayor and his equally egotistical twin to purge the logging operation of their evil clutches.

Veteran independent animator Bill Plympton’s genre-bending new feature Slide is a blend of Western, musical and fantasy. Ecology, politics and humour intertwine in an eccentric tale that is constantly inventive and has an appealing lightness of touch.
