Andreas Dresen (1963, Germany) is a filmmaker, writer, and professor of film acting at the Rostock University of Music and Drama. He studied directing at the Konrad Wolf Academy of Film and Television in Potsdam and has worked as a director since the early 1990s. His films have been widely celebrated, with his most recent film Rabiye Kurnas vs. George W. Bush (2022) winning two Silver Bears at the Berlinale. Dresen is a member of the Academy of Arts, the European Film Academy, and a founding member of the German Film Academy.
