Biography

Casey Kauffman is an American journalist who graduated from Stanford University (California) in 2000 with a degree in political science. From 2006, he worked primarily in the Middle East for various media outlets. Later relocating to Florence, he has since 2015 collaborated with Alessandro Cassigoli. Together, they co-directed The Things We Keep (2018), followed by Butterfly, which won the 2019 Globo d’oro for Best Italian Documentary. Their first fiction film, Californie, was presented at Venice in 2021 in the Giornate degli Autori section.
