Doris BAUER

Doris Bauer is a curator and cultural manager. She was co-director of the international short film festival VIENNA SHORTS from 2019 to 2024. She studied political science at the University of Vienna. Until 2014, she was director of the open-air summer cinema espressofilm, which she co-founded, and managing director of the DVD rental Filmgalerie 8½. In 2012, she co-founded the interest group Forum of Austrian Film Festivals (FÖFF) and served as its spokesperson until 2018. Most recently, she was involved in the development of THIS IS SHORT, a European streaming platform for short films. At the moment she is back at University and studying International Development, while as Head of Selection she is responsible for the international competition Fiction & Documentary and some other programs of VIENNA SHORTS.
