Biography
Marie Losier (1972, France) is a filmmaker and curator who worked for close to 25 years in New York City. Renowned for her poetic and experimental documentaries exploring artistic figures, she has directed films about a range of avant-garde directors, musicians, and composers including Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, and Peter Hristoff. Losier’s work has been screened at many festivals including at Cannes, Tribeca or Berlin, as well as in museums, at Tate Modern or as the subject of retrospectives at MoMA (2018) and the Jeu de Paume (2019).
She has also exhibited her plastic work in contemporary art galleries – her more recent exhibition this year at the Contemporary Museum/Transpalette in Bourges.
