On the 1st November 2005, the United Nations General Assembly chose 27 January, the day of the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp in 1945, to organise the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
Every year around 27 January, Luxembourg also pays tribute to the victims of the Shoah and other genocides. To mark the occasion, the Zentrum für politesch Bildung and its partners are organising a wide range of educational activities, as well as film screenings and public events to:
- Raise young people’s awareness of the dangers of intolerance, racial and religious hatred and ignorance of genocide;
- Encourage them to take action against stereotypes, clichés and violence;
- Encourage them to work towards greater social cohesion.
Don’t hesitate to register your class for one of the sessions or to take part in one of the public activities!
