LUXEMBOURG, AN EVER-EVOLVING CREATIVE HUB

Luxembourg stands out for its dynamism and attractiveness to the audiovisual industry. With a strategic location and modern infrastructures, its capital offers direct access to European opportunities, attracting professionals from both creative and production fields.

With the ongoing digital transformation and the expansion of streaming platforms, Luxembourg City is now establishing itself as an essential hub for the actors of this booming sector.

A MUST-SEE DESTINATION

As capital of the Grand Duchy, Luxembourg City combines modernity and patrimonial heritage. Its UNESCO-listed historic center is a charming place — packed with cobbled streets, ramparts, and a great view over the Alzette valley, particularly from the Chemin de la Corniche.

The Mudam, the MNHA, and the Musée Drëi Eechelen, among others, are essential stops for art lovers, and cultural life centers as the Philharmonie, the Rotondes, neimënster, or l’Atelier, will delight the culture-curious.

With a rich gastronomy and natural parks like the Pétrusse, the city offers a perfect balance between culture, nature, and culinary pursuits. Among other things, Luxembourg City is also the incarnation of a strategic and reliable hub, excelling in finance, logistics, ICT, and innovation.

THE HEARTBEAT OF EUROPEAN CINEMA

Luxembourg is more and more establishing itself as a major actor in the European film industry, with Luxembourg City as its nerve center. The capital offers modern infrastructure and high-end studio facilities, and it is home to the Film Fund Luxembourg, which plays a key role in financing audiovisual projects, including both shorts and feature films as well as virtual reality.

The Centre national de l’audiovisuel (CNA)—located in Dudelange—is devoted to preserving the national audiovisual heritage, supporting audiovisual creators, educating audiences of all ages, and offering training programs.

This support—combined with local expertise—has enabled Luxembourg productions to gain increasing international recognition. Luxembourg and its capital are attractive not only to international film shoots, but also to national and foreign talent, reinforcing its position as the driving force behind a booming audiovisual industry. Among others, Luxembourg hosted the shooting of Peter Webber’s Girl with the Pear Earring (Scarlett Johansson, Colin Firth), Michael Radford’s The Merchant of Venice (Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons), Florian Gallenberger’s Colonia (Emma Watson, Daniel Brühl), Michael Radford’s Flawless (Demi Moore, Michael Caine, Lambert Wilson).
