5 Seasons of Revolution
Synopsis
In the spring of 2011, Damascus-based Lina is a young filmmaker who begins to report on the unfolding conflict in Syria. While Lina and her friends are initially hopeful about the pro-democracy uprisings, events take a turn for the worse and Syria descends into a prolonged calamity. The revolution turns into civil war, months turn into years. Diaristic in nature and spanning over a decade, 5 Seasons of Revolution charts the experiences of Lina and her friends as their country is in freefall.
Compiled from years of video diaries and footage shot by Lina while undercover with multiple aliases, 5 Seasons of Revolution is a forceful memoir of a group of young people whose fates become inextricably entangled in Syria’s political and humanitarian crisis.
