Master Gardener
Synopsis
A meticulous horticulturist is devoted to tending the grounds of a beautiful estate and pandering to his employer, the wealthy dowager. But he has tattoos that reveal a white supremacist past. Then the dowager orders him to take care of her estranged, mixed-race grandniece and the power dynamic of the relationship changes.

Paul Schrader
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1946, Paul Schrader grew up with Calvinist parents and graduated in philosophy from Calvin College in his hometown. He then got an MA in film studies from the UCLA Film School and became a film critic before starting to write scripts. He wrote Taxi Driver, which was picked up by Martin Scorsese, who later also directed other Schrader screenplays. Schrader started directing in 1978 and has made over 20 films since.
