The House of the Lost on the Cape (Misaki no Mayoiga)
Synopsis
Two young girls lose their home and family to a natural disaster. They don’t know each other and are left homeless and lost. They meet a strange old woman who offers them to stay at her house outside the village. This opportunity to start afresh is a great relief until strange phenomena start to occur.
Filled with Japanese folklore and poetic Shinto rituals, The House of the Lost on the Cape is set in the disaster of the 2011 tsunami and seeks to show the way to possible resilience. A sensitive tale about reparation and being a family against all odds.
