Synopsis

A Heartwarming Tale of Adventure and Friendship

Thelma is different from other penguins: she doesn’t like the snow or the cold, and she was raised in the Great Forest by Cat Vilhelm and Mouse Sophia. With her fifth birthday approaching, Thelma decides to throw a party with her friends. But as she begins to worry that her birthday might never come, Thelma finds herself swept into an adventure that will help her discover the value of being true to herself.

A whimsical journey through the eyes of a young penguin trying to find her place in the world. With its charming visuals and endearing storyline, Thelma’s Perfect Birthday captures the magic of self-discovery by reminding audiences that differences are worthy of celebration.

Reinis KALNAELLIS

Reinis Kalnaellis is a director, filmmaker, and producer. Known for short films including Singing Hugo and His Incredible Adventures (2017), which was nominated for Best Animated Film at the Latvian National Film Festival, Kalnaellis is a celebrated animator with a degree in Audiovisual Media at Tallinn University. He also holds a Master’s in Virtual Reality and Smart Technologies from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. Thelma’s Perfect Birthday is his first feature-length animation.
