A mosaic of the everyday lives of teachers and students from different parts of Ukraine, Timestamp focuses on the school life that goes on during wartime, as pupils and teachers strive to continue learning despite the constant threat.
Kateryna Gornostai studied Biology and later Journalism at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. She graduated from the School of Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov Documentary Film and Theatre in Moscow and returned home to Kyiv. She is now engaged in educational documentary programs and directs documentary and fiction films projects.
She has received worldwide recognition for her work, especially with her film Stop-Zemlia, winning the Crystal Bear for Best Feature Film by Generation 14plus at the Berlinale in 2021, the Grand Prix at the Odesa International Film Festival, and the Grand Prize at the Fünf Seen Film Festival, as well as Best Film, Best Directing, Best Screenplay, Best Editing at the Ukrainian Film Academy Awards, among others
